Christmas in Des Moines

Christmas Day

We went to my parents house on Christmas Day and Katie had a blast with her cousins Grace and Brooke. They pretended to be puppies, hide under the bed, and in an old entertainment system....they at one point were also riding around the house in little bikes like a motorcycle game. They will have a blast this summer at the beach! These pictures are a little blurry, they were taken from the iphone due to other camera issues :(

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, Santa brought us our stockings and we had Christmas with Andy's mom Sue, who was able to dodge the weather and make it out. That evening we went over to my parent's house and spent some time with various family members. Katie had a blast with her cousin, Rosie. (Which I don't have any pictures of now... I will post when I get some from my mom.)

December 23rd continued....

Christmas: December 23rd

December 23rd, is the night that I have always had my family Christmas. This year we got a lot of wonderful gifts and Katie had a blast, and is really getting into this opening presents idea.

At two......

I love to play with my baby doll and Mickey toys.
I enjoy building towers with blocks.
I can count to 10. (I usually remember the 3 but not always)
I enjoy watching Dora and Mickey.
My favorite books are "Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid."
I like to play with my friends and Lori's house.
I still love dogs.
I enjoy the princesses and wearing high heal shoes.
I am becoming a picky eater, but seem to always have room for m&m's and cookies.
I am saying 4 to 5 word sentences.
I am a perfectionist, and always want to be independent.

More Birthday

Happy Birthday To Yous

That is how Katie sings the birthday song. On Saturday, we celebrated Katie's 2nd birthday. Holy cow, I can't believe she is two. It has gone so fast, but on the other hand I can hardly remember what it was like before she was here. She had a wonderful Mickey Mouse themed birthday. She loves her Mickey and her Princesses. It's been awesome having some new toys to play with, I wish they would have been here for the snow days last week. Parents out there, I highly suggest the Melissa and Doug play food. They are awesome, and we have been having so much fun playing, and cutting food.

Gingerbread Houses

Some pictures of us making our yearly gingerbread houses. Katie enjoyed helping by putting a few m&m's on the house, most made it to her mouth. At one point I looked over and Katie had ate the top of the tree and the snowmen that were included in the kit. Gross!

Santa.... Try Two

We went to the bank on Friday night to try Santa one more time. No screaming this year, but Katie was very shy, and didn't want much to do with Santa. Maybe next year :)

Magic Night

Here are some pictures of Magic Night in Mt. Vernon on Thursday. It is really an awesome night. All of the stores were decorated nicely for Christmas. When you shopped in stores, several places had musicians, singers, and Christmas Cookies and candies. Some store fronts had little girls dancing to the nutcrackers and one place even had elves working. You were able to take a carriage ride up and down main street, and there was a live Nativity Scene. Katie had a blast and it was a lot of fun. There were huge big snow flakes to add to the magic, too.

SANTA

Tomorrow, we go and see Santa at Grandpa's bank. This is how well it went with Santa last year. This year we have been spending a lot of time looking at Santa, reading about Santa, etc. We shall see if it goes better than last year......

Tree Farm

On Sunday, we went to a tree farm near Solon. It is in the middle of nowhere, but it's really neat. The highlight of the trip was when Andy lost the car keys in the middle of the tree farm. We were able to find them within 10 minutes which was nice. Katie enjoyed riding Santa's Train and eating some cookies!
