weekend with the cousins

After the fair on Saturday, we spent the night with Andy's brother Rob and his family. Katie had a blast playing with her cousins, Theo and Sophia. It was cute to watch them all play together. A couple of pictures of Katie with her cousins, and their puppy Daisy.

State Fair

Andy, Katie and I went to the star fair on Saturday and Katie had a blast. Every year I go to the fair I always run into people I know. This year we happened to run into Ryan, Katie's Godfather, and Andy's old roommate. We also saw our friend Dave, working at the Gizmo stand. Katie loves animals, and was very excited to see the cows, and sheep. In the cattle barn there were a few calves, that Katie absolutely loved! Calves are so cute! We also spent a lot of time on the hands on farm. Katie had a blast farming, and was a very serious little farmer. Of course, we made it to the mandatory fair items: butter cow, big bull, etc. Katie also enjoyed her first official fair food.....donuts.

enjoying our last day of "summer"

Having fun at the park before I head back to school tomorrow. Had a wonderful summer full of moving (house and classroom). Had a wonderful time home with Katie. Now the countdown until Thanksgiving break :)

more new words for katie

some of her new words that I think are pretty funny:

high chair.....nana got her a new high chair for her baby and she thinks it's pretty cool
brown bear....she sings this to us, andy and I sing the brown bear song when we read brown bear, brown bear at night.
purse...she loves to play with mom's purses and high heel shoes
one, two, yippee...she can only count to two but gets really excited when she she does it :)
elbow...a fun new body part

she also is really starting to use adjectives a lot. She wants a big chip, or she sees a big puppy.

RAIN OUT

I bought tickets to a Cub's game for Andy's anniversary gift. Unfortunately it was a rain out. However, we had a fun time checking out wrigley and hanging out with Sean, a friend from college. It was a long but fun day.

We spent the weekend in Chicago and hit up the Lincoln Park Zoo, took a boat ride down the Chicago River, and walked around Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier. We hit up the American Girl store which Katie loved!! She is so into her babies right now. It was a fun weekend.
