I was lucky enough to hit up two Bruce concerts in two days. This was the 3rd and 4th time that I had seen Bruce. As a little girl my dad always played the Born to Run, Born in the USA and Tunnel of Love cassette tapes. I started to listen to Bruce again in college and remember listening to those songs again and instantly being taken back to our maroon astro mini van 10+ years earlier. On Sunday, Andy, Megan and I geared up and hit up chicago, driving back late at night only to wake up a few short hours early to hit up work the next day (just like my parents did when I was little). The Chicago show was amazing, I am not sure I will ever experience another concert like it. The hardcore Bruce fans were there since Bruce was going to play the Born to Run album from start to finish. While waiting for the show to start we ran into people from New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Texas and tons of people from Jersey and New York. Bruce was amazing as always and the crowd was amazing, everyone knew every lyric from every song and there wasn't a dull moment or a song where people sat down and hit up the bathroom....it was a huge party. I feel so lucky to have been there!
On Monday night, I drove down to Des Moines and got to see a totally different show in Des Moines with my sister-in-law, Kelly. Another great show! Bruce turns 60 in a few days and I hope that I am dancing and singing like crazy and running up and down the stage when I am his age, and I also hope that when I am 60 I love my job as much.
Next up....plans for the Milwaukee concert in November :)
