walk to the park

It has been a great two days of spring break. Not only am I on break from work but I am also on break from school, so far it's been a very relaxing week. I have been enjoying my time with Katie and have also enjoyed doing some house cleaning projects. After dinner, we all headed to the playground at the elementary school and Katie had a blast. We haven't been there since last fall and it was so fun to see how much more she could do on her own this spring. Her favorite was the slide. Hopefully the weather will continue to be "warm" and sunny for the rest of the week.

playing outside

Enjoying some outdoor time yesterday. We went on a long walk, played with our new sidewalk chalk and helped dad do yard work. Days like yesterday help us to remember that winter will someday end.

update

Sorry, I haven't posted in almost a month. I do intend to post more soon. However, with working full time, being a student, and raising a 2 year old life has been a little crazy. Hopefully, more posts will be coming soon

Up = depressing movie

This time of year Andy and I like to try to watch as many Golden Globe and Oscar nominated movies as we can. Yesterday, we rented 500 Days of Summer and Up. Tonight, we thought we would watch Up with Katie. We have tried to watch Cinderella, and other Disney movies with Katie and she will usually watch for a little bit and then go play with her toys. Tonight we had to turn off Up because Katie started crying hysterically at the part when the dogs fall into the river and float away. She was really worried about the puppies, and we had to assure her that they were swimming, and then she was worried about Lucy, she was so sad :(

We had heard how sad this movie was from some people, but I don't think we thought it would be that bad. However, the movie Up, was super depressing! Miscarriage, death, deadbeat dads, heroes that don't amount to much, the hero who killed the visitors, someone's home being taken away, urban sprawl, Andy and I were shocked by how sad this story was.

Not quite the kids movie we were hoping for.....
