Fun With Leaves

This weekend didn't go exactly as planned, however still fun. On Saturday, we went to Katie's cousin, Sophia's birthday party. I think my sister-in-law should plan birthday parties for a living. The decorations were super cute, and she did just tons of fun and easy kid things. I am for sure stealing some ideas from her. We had planned to spend Saturday night in Des Moines with the cousins and hit up the h1n1 clinic in Des Moines on Sunday (I am getting a little frustrated because Eastern Iowa is very mysterious on when/where/how the shots will be given.) However, Katie came down with a pretty high fever on Saturday evening, so we ended up driving home. Once we got home she was completely fine...not sure what happened.
So Sunday was spent playing in the leaves as oppose to standing in line for a shot.

Making a "Herman"

Andy use to make 'Hermans," when he was a kid. I don't understand the name Herman, but basically it's a man made of leaves. We had fun making him today and I even got to try out my new sewing machine, which was fun!

A true Cyclone

Let me take a few minutes to brag here :)
This little girl is a true Cyclone fan. She LOVES going to the football games and sits so well watching all the sights and sounds of the game. She likes to check out the game a little closer by looking through grandpa's "glasses." She yells "Go Cyclones," in her big, deep voice, and is doing so well pointing out Cy to all of us. Today, after a tough loss yesterday, Katie asked to wear her Cyclone t-shirt. This is a girl that knows to keep with her team even after a tough loss (I am so proud :) ) That is what a true Cyclone fan is all about!
She also enjoys throwing the football with dad while tailgating, and drinking her water from a koozie, just like dad.

Here are a couple of pictures of Katie wearing her new Cyclone sweatsuit from nana and grandpa.
